So Little Mo filled in the form and added the bands name, but when it came to the song she rounded up the gang and they were in deep discussion for ages, then Molly said “I have an idea, how about only you by the flying pickets, my favourite song” Trevor agreed “Yes Buster, Molly and I can do the bom bom boms and balar balars balars and Little Mo can to lead vocals” Buster said “I can to bums bums bums hee hee. Trevor said “Buster - behave” Molly said “We had better finish that form or we will miss the last post” So Little Mo finished the form - popped it an envelope and dashed down to the letter box and posted it, just in time as the post dog was coming around the corner in his van.Then Little Mo went back home, In the week that followed Little Mo would not leave her kennel incase the phone rang and so she would not miss the post dog, the only time she did leave was to practise the song with the others.
Then one morning the letter came, Little Mo quickly gathered the others and opened the letter and it read Congratulations your band has been selected to attend the auditions for the DS Factor at Wembley Arena. Molly asked “When is it?”
Little Mo re read the letter and said “In a weeks time”
The others replied “No way” “Yes way” said Mo. Trevor said “We had better get some serious practising in” Molly said “Little Mo and I better hit the shops to get our outfits” Buster joked “I’d better go and pick up Trevors underpants hee hee” The week flew past and they travelled to London the night before and stayed in a swish hotel. They were all up early that morning and got some more practise in.
Then it was time to leave, so off to Wembley they went , they queued for ages got their numbers and sat down. They saw the shows presenter Ted doing a bit for the camera he was saying “It hasn’t been good here at Wembley there have been more nos than yeses, but maybe this next band will lift the spirits”Then Ted said to the dog behind the camera “Are they here” The dog replied “Yes they over there” pointing to where the gang were sitting, Molly said “Don’t look now but I think Ted is coming over here” Trevor said “Everyone stay calm” Ted said “Hello we just want to do a piece for the camera then we will cut to a different bit” Another dog said “Camera rolling” Ted said “I am here with D4, they are Little Mo, Molly, Buster and Trevor, I understand you are here on the toss of a coin” Trevor said “That’s right, we thought let fate guide us” Ted replied “Well lets hope fate is smiling on you today”.
Ted thanked them and and turned to the camera and said “Lets hope fate has done the right decision for them because thay have to face the judges, who you all know of very well, well we have Jenny head of the judging panel the one who will sign the winner onto her record label, then we have Zeea, she is in the world famous pop group Grrrr Aloud, and then we have Zahli, she is an actress and successful solo artist, and finally we have Luke he is the manager of the world famous woof life, and he used to manage Grrrr Aloud….”
Then Buster heard their number called, they all got up nervously and headed to the audition room, when they got there Ted was there and wished them good luck, they all walked in and stood before the judges, Jenny said “And you are” They all replied “D4” Jenny asked “What are you going to sing for us today?” “Only you by the Flying Pickets” replied Little Mo nervously.Luke said “Good song choice” Zeea said “Aww that is one of my favourites pets” Zahli said “I hope you can do harmonies” Jenny said “Right off you go”.(click to listen to D4)
Buster, Molly and Trevor started off the harmonies . Little Mo came in with the lead vocals they sang for a minute or so, then Jenny held up her paw to stop them. Jenny said What do you think Luke?” He replied “I am not sure, you can sing, but I am not sure” Zahli spluttered “Were you listening to the same thing as us, that was brilliant, they had the harmonies and everything” Zeea said “I agree with Zahli, you lot could have a hit record with that, you made me cry pets and that’s a good thing”
Jenny said “Ok - lets wrap this up -
Zeea yes or no?!
“Zahli ?"
“Luke?"
Jenny smiled at D4 and said “Guys four yeses you are through to boot camp” d4 jumped up and down and ran out of the room shouting, Little Mo grabbed hold of Ted and spun him around ………………
