Ted said “ Stop spinning me around, you are making me feel dizzy." Then little Mo noticed a Great Dane walking up to them, the Great Dane said “Everything alright Ted?” Little Mo stopped spinning Ted around and asked “Who is that?” Ted replied “Don’t worry about him, he is Knasher - Jenny's bodyguard” replied Ted dizzily.
Knasher said “I escort all the dogs out of the audition room that refuse to leave quietly, Little Mo gulped, Ted said “I wanted to be Jenny's bodyguard, but Jenny said I only wanted to look after her body - not guard it heehawed, but she does fancy me really” Knasher gave Ted a funny look, and Ted added “Or one day she will”.
Trevor asked “What happens now?” Knasher replied “If you would like to follow me I will take you to Zoe and she will tell you” Buster muttered the others.“Is he going to kick us out now hehehehehehe” The rest of the gang said in unison “Buster”. They followed Knasher down the corridor to an office where a Yorkshire Terrier wearing a pretty pink eye patch was sitting, Knasher said “If you go in there Zoe will look after you” Zoe said “First I would like to say congratulations for getting through the first round”.
Molly asked nervously “What happens next?” Zoe looked at the gang and smiled “This is where the paperwork starts - if you would all like to pull up a chair and then the fun begins” Zoe went to the filing cabinet and got a huge pile of forms, the gang groaned when they saw the paperwork, Zoe returned to the desk and handed them the forms and said if you would like to read it through and sign here please”
The gang read through the forms which were contracts to officially register their bands name and a clause which meant they couldn’t tell anyone they got through until the show began, they all signed the form and Zoe put them in a folder and marked it D4, Zoe then gave them more paper work she explained it was details of the hotel they would stay in when they were at boot camp and a song list where they had to pick a song to sing at boot camp.
Trevor asked “Can we sing a song of our own choice” Zoe replied “Sadly no, we have to pay out royalties that is why there is a list, plus you only get a few days to prepare as we are near the end of the audition stage, Buster said “Molly - you can choose as your song got us through”. Molly took the song list and closed her eyes and pointed to a song, Little Mo said “Fate decides again” They all looked their song choice was Lost by Michael Buble. Zoe said “Good choice” she wrote it down. Trevor said “We better start rehearsing our vocal arrangement” Zoe said Good bye and good luck”. The gang returned home and started practising, sometimes for 12 hours a day.
Boot camp soon came, there were so many dogs there and Ted said “Welcome to the DS Factor and welcome to boot camp” Everyone was cheering and clapping. Ted continued “All the contestants will be called on stage to perform in front of the judges, then they will get a yes or no to see if they are through to the next round.
Right lets go to the action D4 have just been called on stage, the music began to play and Little Mo began to sing, and Trevor, Molly and Buster came in with the backing vocals. Ted was clapping and said “Lets see what the judges think of that” (click below to hear D4)
Jenny said “That was good, but I have heard you sing better” Jenny pointed at Molly and said “You should come forward and sing the main line with your sister, you have a good voice, all I can say is I like it”.
Luke said “It didn’t blow me away but that was a difficult song to sing but it was good”
Zeea said “You two don’t know what you are talking about that was excellent, Don’t listen to them pets, they are having a bad day”
Zahli said “I am backing D4 all the way that was awesome awesome awesome! I am going to have to borrow some of Zeeas tissues, I felt a tear roll down my face.
Jenny said “Thank you and off you go". Ted said “Right now all the acts have sung, they will be called on stage in groups, here we go” Jenny said D4, Levi, Ozzy step forward, you are through to the next round, the rest of you the journey ends here”
D4 and Levi were jumping around hugging each other, The remaining acts had to sing their song one more time without the judges passing comment, before the judges decided who went through to the live shows, Ted said “They will be split into 3 groups of 6 now, and will be sent to these rooms, there are two no rooms and a yes room and now the judges have to make their decision. D4 are in a room with Levi, Ozzy, Tina, Tiny, Toby, Sally and Lady they have been waiting there for ages and they have not heard anything from the other rooms, ahh the judges have entered the room, lets hear what they have to say”
Jenny looked all around the room and said “I am so sorry guys” Little Mo’s heart sank when she heard that, “But we are going to have to put you through this again, you are our final six” All the room erupted in cheers and crying but Jenny said “Now the hard work begins”…………
